American Freedom

It seems that to use "American" and "Freedom" in the same sentence is becoming as oxymoronic as "Military" and "Intelligence". In the wake of the latest assault on civil liberties (the Oct 17 2006 Military Commissions Act), my activist soul is crawling out of the liberal closet and getting active. I am trying to get involved with World Can't Wait, and exploring any other options, particularly to somehow network the various campaigns and get them talking to each other. Right now it looks as if the Neo-Cons are playing a rousing round of Divide-and-Conquer, as well as the unconvincing shell game known as the War on Terror. As of right now, I have little hope that anyone will even read my blogs on this and other subjects, but I can hope that eventually it will make an impact. Right...just like the nightmare of Tobaccogate did so much to change the world...sigh. Perhaps someone will believe me about THIS...
